Embarking from the peaceful Nepalese countryside, our path winds towards the Nepal-Tibet border. Swiftly managed formalities at both Nepalese and Tibetan Immigration will take roughly an hour. The journey then takes an exciting twist as we ascend towards Kyirung, arranging the essential PSP permit along the way. Around midday, after about 40 kilometers, a satisfying lunch break awaits at the Kyirong border. Along this scenic route, you'll catch sight of the alluring Mila Repa cave and its accompanying waterfall. A hike to the cave from the main road takes around half an hour to forty minutes for those interested. Continuing on, we'll conquer the Kyirong Pass towering above 4900 meters, followed by a route along the serene Pekutso Lake on the left and the majestic Shisha Bangma Snow Mountain on the right. Covering roughly 180 kilometers from Kyirong county, the journey concludes in the captivating Old Dingri, treating you to breathtaking nature and grandeur.

  • 03 Old Tingri to Shigatse (3,836m/300km)

Weather permitting, an exceptional sight of Mount Everest awaits you in Old Tingri, offering a stunning backdrop. • 04 Shigatse to Gyantse (3,977m/90km)

In the morning, following a visit to the Tashi Lumpo Monastery, we will embark on a 2-hour drive to the captivating town of Gyantse. This historical town, brimming with significance, is nestled 264 kilometers southwest of Lhasa, resting on the northern bank of the Nyang Chu River. With roots dating back to the 15th century, Gyantse once stood as the capital of a modest kingdom. A highlight of the visit includes the Kumbum Chorten, a remarkable structure constructed around 1,400 AD.
