Rolwaling Valley Treks

rolwaling valley trekRolwaling valley is extended east to west of the Gauri Shankar Massif (7134 m). It is one of the truly "off-the-beaten-tracks" starting with a drive from Kathmandu to the village of Charikot. However, the strain and degree of difficulty are constantly rewarded with visits to remote villages, the magnificence of the Omni-present Mountains and walks through thick Rhododendron forests. The northern skyline is constantly dominated by the summit of Mt. Gauri Shankar (7146 m.) for a long time confused with Everest and thought to be the highest mountain in the world. This trek takes you through a demographic cross section of Nepal that can’t be sampled on any other trek. Since the reopening of this route, the small Sherpa villages of Beding and Na are accessible to trekkers who would like to see what traditional Sherpa culture, untouched by western influence. This trek is one of the seven hidden valleys in the Himalayan, past beautiful Sherpa and Tamang villages. Rolwaling is the East -West valley below Gauri Shanker (7145m) just south of Tibetan border.  From this trek, you can view the Great views of Mt. Gauri shanker, Mt. Dorje Lakpa and Mt. Tashi Lapcha all along the trail. This trek also offers a great opportunity for short climbs of peaks like Ramdong Go (5930m) and Pharchamoro (6187m).
