The trail takes you through beautiful Modi khola valley up to Poon-hill, at the foothill of the Annapurna massif. Poon Hill is a viewpoint to see the Annapurna peaks including Machhapuchhre (Mt. Fishtail), Mt. Dhaulagiri to the north and the transcendental valley to the south. The region is dominated by the Gurungs and Magars, both are ethnic groups of Nepal. While descending on the way back to Pokhara, we pass through the paved courtyards of Ghandruk village, another popular traditional village of Gurungs and there we can experience their age old tradition and culture and interact with the local people. This trek is a wonderful opportunity to witness the beauty of the Annapurna region with a shorter trek. The trip starts just north of the city of Pokhara and winds through the Poon Hill area and then passes the.
