Trekking in Bhutan

Trekking in Bhutan

Trekking in Bhutan is unlike anywhere else in the Himalayas, complemented by crystal clear air and views that sometimes defy description. Some treks are short and suitable for beginners while others can be long and challenging. All the trekking in Bhutan use tented campsite accommodation and on many routes you will be the only trekkers in sight. Trekking was the only way to reach the Dragon Kingdom until half-a-century ago. Beating the snow-winds of Tibetan cliffs, monks powered with mysterious chants trekked down the clouds-capped mountains into Bhutan, a kingdom roughly 10 percent larger than Switzerland. Indian merchants and colonial British political officers climbed up the narrow trekking routes from the southern plains as towering teak trees and still lakes provided cool shadows and quenched their thirst. The Trekking in Bhutan are relatively easy at an altitude of 3,100 meters above sea-level to an adventurous heights of 5,600 meters of yak-herders, rare medicinal plants, and rhododendron and edelweiss flowers.
